11/18/02 puget18 newsWashington Department of Fish and Wildlife sort through a variety of species just netted from the bottom of South Puget Sound, part of Puget Sound Ambient Monitoring Program (PSAMP). PSAMP was initiated in 1988 by the State of Washington as a coordinated effort by state and federal agencies to evaluate the health of the Puget Sound ecosystem. Fish and Wildlife is charged with monitoring contamination burdens and abundance of fish, marine birds and marine mammals.
