11/18/02 puget18 newsTony Frantz uses red balloons to mark some 300 logs soaked with creosote on a beach on the south end of Whidbey Island. Creosote, which is used to treat wood used in marine structures, is a known carcinogen and can be lethal to marine organisms including herring and sea urchins.
